I went back home to Jasper and went to my old church. I loved how the light came in from the windows nearing sun-down and I really liked the colors I was able to get from this shot.

Jacobsville Residents

Chet figured out how to use my 10x filter for the end of my lens and I am very happy with the results I've gotten.

I uploaded these straight of my camera so the strange looking roll-off is a result of the f/1.4 and the 10x magnification, not Photoshop.

First shots with the new T2i

These are the first pictures I took with the camera! I have a bunch to learn about using it but I am looking forward to seeing what else I can do with it

The Rebel XT

This is probably the last time that my Rebel XT will be my primary camera and I was so happy to get out and enjoy the first "hot" day in Evansville. Man, if the T2i is better, then I cannot wait to shoot with it because I am loving these pics and I absolutely will not sell the XT now after being reminded of the great shots it can take when the lighting is solid.

WET

Rained like heck all day but I found a break in it to photograph a drenched alley downtown. It was cool but I really wish I had my new camera to go out and try out today.

About this Week

Yeah, so this week I went ahead and pre-ordered the t2i!

Yeah, and in other news, I've had a heck of a week.

Long days, hopefully it'll make a difference on the paycheck.

Long nights, I've been sleeping without any dreams lately... weird.

I'm looking forward to this premier of Justified...

I am just dying to get my hands on this bad boy (550d). I'm gonna have this beautiful guy sitting in my bag next to my 50mm f/1.4 and I think that they will become quick friends.

Evansville Downtown

I was assigned to look at architecture during "sweet light" (right before sunset/right after sunrise). These are pics of downtown Evansville. I was probably out a little early as I was out about 45 minutes before sunset, but I like how they turned out.

Strawberry Fields

I watched Across the Universe the other day and I loved the scene where Jude throws strawberries at the wall to the tune of Strawberry Fields and I decided to make a photo similar.

I loved the red and I set my camera to shoot in 2 step increments for the highlites, midtones, and lowlites and I used this final one as my assignment for my photo class "plant in the abstract."

Colorado Spring Break

These aren't new but I thought that I would get up some of the best of the pics from our trip to Colorado last spring break because I won't be having another adventure this time around.

The Snowman

I was told earlier this week that there was a huge snowman that had been constructed on campus...

It was true.

I drove down the road to check it out and there he was, a 14 ft snowman that had been built by a senior and his roommates overnight. They worked for 10 and a half hours to finish him.

Lanterns

I got a paper lantern for Sonya for her birthday and I didn't realize how pretty they were up close.

Bike at 1.4

I really love the 50mm f/1.4 that I got over the summer.
Took a little bit of time for me to figure out how to go about using it but I'm really happy with all of the recent pictures I've been able to create.

DIY Lighting

I built a lightbox for my photography class and these were some of the results...

The process was really simple and it cost me relatively nothing.
